Meet the Characters
Since the foundation of Life of Lydie revolves around bullying, each of the characters are crafted around different perspectives of a bullying situation. Not only will the story be covering the perspectives of the victim and bully, but also the thoughts and feelings behind being an upstander and bystander.

As the new girl in town, Lydie is excited to start middle school and make friends! She is kind, caring, and always willing to help those in need. Unfortunately, her friendly nature makes her a prime target for bullies. Lydie is determined to learn how to solve her bully issues, and hopefully have some fun in the process.

Nora has a reputation for being athletic, tomboyish, and hot-tempered. Not many people get along with her, but she managed to find a friend in Lydie. Nora knows just how terrible other kids can be, so she defends Lydie during the transition into middle school.

Avril is a bossy, and persistent relational bully. From the minute she meets Lydie, she continuously takes advantage of her kind nature. Whether it is positive or negative, Avril always wants to be the center of attention, no matter how she makes others feel.

As Avril’s best friend, Bridget will follow her to the end of the Earth. But when Avril’s bullying gets out of hand, Bridget starts to realize how wrong it is. Should she support the actions of her best friend, or stay true to herself?
